My favourite experiences on the Gold Coast take in a bit of food, a bit of wine, some true blue local activity, and some of the great outdoors where you can experience the climate for which Queensland is famous.
You can’t beat the fresh sandcrab sandwiches at the Spit Koisk and eating them on the pumping jetty.
Finish off lunch with the Champagne Master Class at Carafe Winery, which is a boutique winery hidden in the back of Southport’s former industrial area.
If you want to mix it with the locals, check out a Gold Coast Suns AFL and AFLW game at People First Stadium (shameless plug for my team).
With kids (and/or a dog in tow), you can’t go past the Gold Coast Botanical Gardens (better known to locals as Rosser Park), which includes a massive waterfront off-the-leash dog park – next to Royal Pines in Benowa.
